Car Style in Hamburg and Bug Run in Sweden, catchup

by HoTWire 21. October 2008 03:03

In our brief quiet spell we've missed a couple of shows that you should probably know about, so there will be a handful of catch up posts over this week.

Today we have the Car Style show in Hamburg, Germany and Bug Run in Sweden.

Like a lot of European events Car Style is a whole cross scene affair with modern cars rubbing shoulders with retro machinery and hot rods.  The influences seem to flow between the various makes, years and styles, which makes this sort of event particularly interesting, even if you aren't always a big fan of some of the cars being modified.

A couple of galleries of the event can be found here :

* Update * Our friend Ralf from Chromjuwelen hooked us up with some more pictures:

With the dates for next years event (2nd to 4th October) already on the Car Style website now is the time to start planning your trip to next years event.

Secondly we have another of those VW shows.  It seems that VW of all the single make cults has the biggest and longest show season in Europe, perhaps this is part of the reason that the whole scene is so active and influential.  The Swedish have a habit of turning out some of the finest modified cars on the continent and the Bug Run proved testament to this.  Being towards the end of the show season you also get a bit of a hint at what is going to be big next year...

There is a really nice gallery here :

Will Sweden join Belgium as one of 'the' VW hot spots? I think it is well on its way...

I whole heartedly concur, and I share the obsession of cars and car accessories, but nothing beats driving on the freeway in my jeep and blasting my train horn at all who get in my way! In my opinion, no car is complete unless it has a unnaturally loud horn! Pushing my train horn obsession aside for a brief moment, and stepping back into reality just to tell you that your Car Style in Hamburg and Bug Run in Sweden, catchup page provided me with some previously non existent food for thought on a topic close to my heart. It's fantastic to find other folks with a like minded attitude.
