It has been a while since we had a linklog and we've been collecting some great ones for you, so now seems a good time to start sharing.
First up we have the site for the
Japanese Dragrace Driver Association (JDDA). Whilst we often see coverage of drifting events and to a lesser degree circuit racing in Japan, they also have a thriving drag scene, with some fantastically quick cars. The JDDA can be navigated in English, but the actual pages are in Japanese, so you will need to fire up your
favourite translation website to get the most out of it.
At the very least though you can hit up the
Results section to see what sort of cars are running what times. Their
Links section is a treasure trove of tuners, teams and individual sites. Then their is their
Youtube page which has a selection of videos, one of which we have put at the end of this post. The JDDA site is really a great gateway to more information about Japanese Drag Racing. Sadly their web design means linking directly to pages is a pain.
Keeping on a foreign language (and difficult to link content) theme we've got
Oldtimer-TV which as its name implies deals with oldtimer car videos. This German site has some superb videos under its "Reportage" section including Pebble Beach coverage and a couple of museum trips. There seems to be much more to the site with Blogs, Podcasts and Links, it is all in German although their Blog has a lot of good youtube video links.
Modifying cars can be influenced by lots of different ideas, one of the hottest scene right now is on two wheels, we do enjoy a great motorbike site and they don't come much cooler than the
Bike Exif Blog. Lots of two wheeled eye candy to check out and figure out how you can apply the same ideas to a car. The whole presentation of the site is spot on as well and certainly something for other vehicle based blogs to aspire to.
Lets wrap up with a video from the JDDA site.
Rising's L-series powered Sunny drag car is immensely cool, how immensely cool?? This cool (at 1:17 into the video) :
