Here's an obscure one, a custom car magazine from Norway called Right On. This particular issue dating back fifteen years, back to when bright colours and graphics were all the rage just as they were in the rest of the world at the time (yes, there will be examples!).
Our first taster of Norway's take on nineties graphics is from their resident artist Arild Bergskaas who filled two pages with paint schemes for a '34 Sedan Delivery...three of which are here for you:
Those were the days! Lever the lid off the peppermint paint, I'm building a Hot rod! You don't hear that anymore do you? It's not just the rods getting the treatment though...
This chopped squareback (Squarback says the caption) was at the Bug In show covered by Right On and represents all that was great about the VW scene of the day...the cars weren't too expensive to cut up and rides like this were the result. If only it had some graphics...
...like this Bug. Where are we again? Southend? No it's Skien where the Right On Motorshow was held (I think, my Norwegian is on a par with my Japanese!) and this peach stunner was holding it's own among the classic American cars, Hot Rods and even the occasional Harley Davidson. I really like those colour-coded popouts. Elsewhere at the same show was this next great combo - a Camaro and Chevy pickup sporting the same crazy paint. I'm not sure what the intention with the Camaro is...race car? street machine? Whatever it's supposed to be I like it, although just how practical a car with no doors would be seems like too abvious a question to bother asking. Hey it worked for Bo and Luke didn't it?

Last, but by no means least is this awesome Volvo 'wagon. This time there's no graphics or bright paint - just acres of shiny black...a gutsy move after you've taken a hacksaw to the roof! Clear indicators, just the right amount of chrome around the grille and in the bumper inserts to tie in with the wheel rims and we have ourselves a winner. What's that under the bonnet? The captions says Chevrolet TPI motor amongst the otherwise unrecognisable (by me!) text. That'll do nicely.
Incedentally if anyone knows anything more about Right On Magasin, any of the cars you see here or even about Arild Bergskaas then you know what to do...click the comments button below.
På gjensyn everyone!
