There is an interesting difference between writing for a magazine and writing for a blog, magazines need to be accurate, informative and talk to their audience. Blog writing can be these things too, but it can also engage and ask for something back from it's audience. This isn't an approach we do here a lot, but today we have a question, what is going on in Switzerland?
In the course of writing blog entries we will often do research into our subject matter to make sure we give you a concise overview of what we're talking about and to share with you what we know. I decided that this week I'd write about the scene in Switzerland as occasionally I've stumbled across sites with a .ch suffix and found some very cool cars. So I went and started trawling my book marks and the other usual routes for information retrieval. Along the way I found some very interesting stuff, but I can't help but feel there is more lurking just out of reach.
The Swiss scene like the country seems to straddle the boundaries of Italian, French, German and Austrian tuning. From what we could find there seems to be a heavy leaning towards Italian marques, but with more German/Euro style tuning. The show scene seems to encompass shows in Germany, Austria, France and Italy as well as home grown events. Whilst some of the cars are modified it seems that a lot remain firmly in the stock classic area with many fine examples turning up to classic events.
When I managed to scratch that veneer though I found some tantalising glimpses of something more, a super charged Alfa GTV drag car at a Swiss event, a photograph collection that included a bunch of hot rods at a Swiss show, a number of large American cars floating around or in the background of other pictures. Just out of reach, just beyond the information I have. So if you know more, please tell us in the comments box below, or send us an email. This is clearly an area we need to investigate more, there is definitely gold out there just waiting to be found.
